Breedlove Farm - Monroe, GA
For generations, this property was recognized as a pioneering dairy farm owned and operated by the Breedlove family. However, after the farm ceased operations and closed its doors, the land was gradually resold and subdivided, leaving just 109 acres of undeveloped property—still home to the historic farmhouse and silo.
During an intensive five-day design charrette, our team was entrusted with crafting a new vision for Breedlove Farm as a walkable, mixed-use community and future destination. The master planning process prioritized placemaking and the incorporation of a diverse mix of commercial, residential, and mix of uses. Preserving the site’s natural features was a key consideration, inspiring the creation of a contiguous green network that enhances ecological health and fosters connectivity across the property.
The plan is rooted in inclusivity, offering neighborhoods of varying scales, workforce housing, and a thoughtfully designed system of safe streets, sidewalks, trails, and green spaces. At its heart stands the historic farm silo, preserved and repurposed as both a symbolic and functional focal point. This iconic structure anchors a vibrant gathering space, envisioned as a venue for local events, community gatherings, and markets.
