Downtown Lucedale Revitalization Plan

TPUDC was the recipient of a grant by Mississippi State University and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration during the Spring of 2008 to conduct a series of Smart Growth Lectures and Workshops throughout southern Mississippi. At the culmination of this series, TPUDC conducted a downtown revitalization charrette in the Town of Lucedale as a real-world application of the concepts and principles developed during the series. Officials and citizens were able to visualize the potential of their downtown with the addition of infill buildings to better define their Main Street corridor. A network of civic spaces was created to further strengthen neighborhood structure. Economic development strategies were also explored to help turn these suggestions into reality.
